Lauren & Corey

In the midst of my disease, I took part in a beautiful wedding for my long time friend Lauren and her now husband, Corey. The wedding was held at Bridgeport in Valencia, CA. Bridgeport is a upscale community there with a houses, a man made lake and light house. Great location for a wedding. The bride was stunning, weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time. I unfortunately was sick and could not breathe well at all. I also barely had a voice, so I could not give my speech that I wanted to give. I later went to talk to the bride and groom privately to say how sorry I was for not giving a speech and I full on broke down. I'm not sure if it was the combination of meds, lack of sleep, or emotions of the day but god damn did I lose it. I wasn't able to dance or enjoy myself as well as I had hoped, but I was still so blessed and honored to be a part of their special day. And I think I hid my cold well in the pics. :)

Here is Lauren with her bridesmaids. Tisha (next to me) and Ilene, both her sister in laws.

Mom and I cheers to the happy couple

Always be escorted by 2 men at all times.

Worst Doctor Ever

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. I have been very ill for the past 3 weeks and I am finally getting back to normal. My cold started with a bad sinus infection. I have chronic sinusitis, so I am used to getting sinus infections about 3 times a year. This one however, spread to my throat and caused me to have tonsillitis as well! I went to the urgent care because I could not breathe through my nose or throat. And you know...breathing is kind of important. After a hour of sitting in the waiting room, I finally got in to see the doctor. She is the most unfriendly doctor I have ever met in my life. I told her about my nose and that is bothering my throat. She looked in my mouth, without any kind of tool, and says, "Oh you need to get those removed asap!". Umm, excuse me? She then scared me by saying she was about to grab two large shots to give me and asked me how allergic to the drugs I listed on my record. I was dumb-founded and told her not to give me the shots. She then yelled at me and gave me a presciption for meds and told me that if i wasn't better by the morning to go straight to the ER. I later found out that if she had given my those shots, I would have gone into shock immediately. Great, thanks doc. I went home, and started the meds. I was also taking sudafed cold and cough, ibuprofen, and strong cough drops every 4 hours. This went on for a whole week. I was bed ridden. My voice was completely gone. I sounded like a deaf person who was trying to talk. Truly awful! I managed to suck it up and look great for Lauren's wedding but had to leave right after they cut the cake since I felt so sick. 2 weeks after I started this cold, I start to feel better. Just in time to move. The day of the move, I started to break out in hives on my chest. My mom and I thought it was stress and heat but it quickly started to spread through out my whole body. My mom's best friend is a dentist and has extensive medical knowledge. We went over to her house to show her my hives and she knew right away what is was. Turns out I was allergic to the meds. Fantastic. I then went straight into anaphylactic shock. My entire body was covered in hot, extremely itchy hives and I felt like death. I had to have 6 steriod and benedryl shots injected into my upper back. It has now been 5 days since the hives started. It has moved throughout every inch of my body, and I mean EVERY inch! Right now it is only on my legs, arms, and stomach. This has been quite an adventure and validates my true hatred for going to the doctor.

Every inch of my body looked like this. Face, neck, back, butt...EVERY thing
